As it stands currently, the story that Fox was planning to remake The Walking Dead with big-name stars in the main roles and famous directors attached to each and every one-hour episode has turned out to be reliable.  A google search has revealed mostly hits to alternative news sites and a few really far out blogs only.

Still no confirmations on the story.  Right now the stars mentioned are scheduled to be involved with other projects, so unless it's a big secret we have to conclude the story is false.
